Monsoon Influences Continue Across Nepal: Heavy Rain Expected in Several Regions

Kathmandu: The Department of Water and Meteorology has reported that the influence of Monsoon air is pervasive across the country, with the low-pressure line of the Monsoon situated around the location.

Currently, light to moderate rainfall is being experienced in many areas within the Bagmati and Gandaki regions, as well as in some parts of the Koshi, Lumbini, and Karnali regions.

The department forecasts that this afternoon will be partly to mostly cloudy nationwide. Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is expected in some areas of the Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali regions, along with the hilly areas of the Far Western Provinces, and sporadically in other regions.

Tonight, the weather will remain partly to mostly cloudy throughout the country. There is a likelihood of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some areas of Lumbini and Karnali, and in other regions as well. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is possible in one or two locations within the Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Over the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is anticipated in parts of the Lumbini region. The department has warned of potential flash floods, floods, and landslides in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and some locations in Sudurpaschim province due to the possibility of heavy to very heavy rain.

Additionally, the department has urged everyone to remain cautious as these weather conditions could partially impact daily activities, including agriculture, health, tourism, mountain climbing, road, and air transport in the affected areas.
